Your essay detailing your vision for the New England Region Phi Theta Kappa and what you would do to help achieve that vision. 300-500 words, please:

Over the three years that I've been a member of Phi Theta Kappa I've seen myself grow from a self-conscious and quiet person to a confident, self-assured, active participant within my community.

The benefits of working together and the friendships that grew among the different chapter members I have met is what inspired me to reach out to a regional level. By traveling and representing Alpha Iota Nu at regional and International Conventions I have come to learn the importance of reaching out beyond the confines of just one chapter. Working together with other chapters, the enthusiasm and friendships became my inspiration to step up to assume regional office or responsibilities.

After working with chapters from New York and the Middle States Region I saw the potential for the New England Region to grow into a fully interactive region. I can visualize the New England Regional Officers working together encouraging members to network and help motivate each other in fulfilling Phi Theta Kappa's purpose. Hopefully to inspire the less involved chapters to work becoming interactive within the region and increase the participation in the Five Star program. Working together to reach the potential of what our region can be.

After attending the International Convention in Nashville last year I was impressed and surprised to see such a big representation for other regions. Coming back, my dream was to see a larger group of chapters representing New England in the future.

By organizing more frequently events throughout the whole year, not just conferences but also fellowship events, I can see the New England chapters becoming unified and able to walk together to accomplish even more.
